This project is intended for an Art Foundations class of primarily 7th graders. In this unit, students create watercolor pet portrait posters promoting the animals up for adoption at the Salt Lake County Animal Services shelter. They will learn how art can shape community and support a cause as they develop and apply skills in cropping, designing text, using placement and contrast, and watercolor painting.
